For caregivers, the PTA mostly means emails & meetings. As much as we care about our school community, we know these are not the most fun activities.
We're pairing 2 new fundraising events this year to close out the year with a bang & hopefully have some fun -- all while supporting our school -- a mostly-online Silent Auction and an End-of-Year Party.
Keep reading for more info and to register to bid. These are separate events so you will need to both sign up on the auction site and purchase your ticket(s) for the party if you plan to attend. Or you can do one or the other!
Why should I sign up? We have an incredible catalog of items, and our students and educators really need your support!
Where: Online + last 2 hours are in person at the party!
Picking up items: If you bid and win an item, you will receive an email with more instructions. We'll coordinate with you to get you any virtual items won. Physical items can be picked up in person at the End-of-Year party, or check your email for how to make arrangements if you won't be at the party.
Why are we doing another fundraiser? Great question!
We think our school is awesome and deserves to have incredible things and we know that every caregiver and student at our school wants this.
Unfortunately, state & national funding isn't enough to get us there. We, the community, have to make up the difference. We see and appreciate your generosity during our other fundraisers this year! But we are still below our goal, and historically have raised less than other PTAs in our geozone.
We're hoping this new fundraiser will be a fun and engaging way to raise more for our school -- while also supporting our incredible community of local and regional businesses that have partnered with us to offer so many cool auction items.
How do I get a ticket? Click here to buy your ticket(s)! You do need a ticket to get in. If you're a teacher, we have a set of tickets just for you -- contact fundraising@danielbagleypta.org to claim yours.
Want to buy a ticket for a teacher? Do that here! Any funds for teacher tickets that are not claimed by teachers will go into the PTA general donation fund.
When is it? June 7, 4pm - 7pm
Where? Bickerson's Brewhouse in Ballard - Maps link
Is the event family friendly? Most PTA events are for kids, or they're meetings. We are planning this as a fun event for you, the grownups. The venue is kid-friendly, but there will be no kids programming and we're hoping this will be an opportunity for parents and caregivers to get to know each other.
Ok, is there childcare then? Unfortunately the ILS childcare signup is now closed; however we'd rather see you than not - all attendees do need a ticket to attend, but please join us and bring your child(ren) if that is the only way you can come!
I bought my ticket. Now what? You'll immediately get an automated receipt from Givebacks. Watch your email for another email within the next few hours from fundraising@danielbagleypta.org with instructions on how to get your drink ticket and logistics! If you don't receive that email please let me know.
What does my ticket cover? It includes:
one drink, alcoholic or non, at the event
an entry in a drawing for one of 10 bento-style lunchboxes (this can be for your kid or you, we all need lunch)
a fun time to hang out with other Bagley parents and caregivers to congratulate yourselves for making through the school year
Will there be food? Yes, there will be food available for purchase -- Whateke food truck will be there, and the venue also has food. There will be vegan and gluten-free options.
How's the parking? Street parking is available around the brewery. Feel free to organize a carpool with another Bagley family to make it easier!
What is the accessibility situation? The venue has a small indoor bar space with some seating, and a much larger outdoor space with a paved patio and canopies covering picnic tables. Some parts of the patio are gravel. There are no stairs to the front door. Email fundraising@danielbagleypta.org if you have specific accessibility questions!
I thought this was a block party? We did too, turns out that was not feasible for a number of reasons. We're happy to tell you all about it at the party!
Do you really have a DJ named DJ Roostaface? Yes we do! He'll be spinning hits of the 90s. Come as you are, or in 90s attire, or for some of us both of those things apply.
Do I have to be a PTA member to come? Nope! All are welcome, but you do need a ticket.
Really I just want that sweet lunchbox. Do I have to buy a ticket to be entered in the lunchbox drawing? No! If you just want in on the drawing, you can email me and provide your child(ren)'s names and teachers and your email address.
