Room: 218
Cost: $320 *Materials fee and Washington State sales tax included in the class cost
GRADES 2-5
There is something especially magical about Autumn. Leaves tumble from the trees, acorns and seedpods scatter across the earth, mushrooms peek out from unexpected places, and everywhere we look, Nature offers treasures for children to discover. In this new fall class, inspired by Nature’s wonderful artists and architects—from nest-builders and web- weavers to the Woodland folk of our own imaginations—we’ll sculpt, weave, build and transform natural and art materials into tiny furnishings, fanciful beings, curious constructions, and other treasures dreamed up along the way.
Rather than creating one finished miniature world, children will make a collection of tiny creations they can arrange and rearrange, and take wherever their imaginations lead—beneath a favorite tree, into a garden, across a bookshelf, or into a world entirely of their own making, discovering just how much magic can be hiding inside the smallest things.
All materials and a light snack will be provided.
